Avery Athene Wood (they/them) is a jack of all trades artist with a passion for directing, writing, and stage management. Their artistic focus lives within musical theatre and developing new works. Recently, they had a premiere reading of The Heartbreak Kids at The Maker’s Space Intimate Artist Night. Other credits include Czar Dla Domu, The Mixtape (Cleo’s Version), Haunted, and after-party-haze, all of which premiered at Playwrights Horizons Theatre School. When not working on writing and directing projects, they can be found stage and production managing. They have been with SheNYC since 2022. In 2022 and 2023 they were the Associate Production Manager of the SheNYC summer theatre festival. Fall of 2023, they were the Assistant Stage Manager of SheNYC’s off-broadway run of Bloodshot at A.R.T./NY. Most recently, they were the Production Manager of the 2024 SheNYC summer theatre festival. They graduated from New York University with a BFA in Drama and a minor in Creative Writing.
